Management accountant

An established property and construction business in Cumbria are looking to recruit a Management Accountant. They have gone through a period of growth over the last few years and are looking for someone to spearhead the operational finance function.

The client is a well established property and construction business based in Cumbria. After a period of growth, they are looking to improve on what they have build and drive efficiencies to build on this further. They have a small finance team in post currently and are looking for someone to come and take a lead on the operational finance function.

Description

• Monthly preparation of consolidated accounts
• Preparation of year-end financial statements for each group company
• Management and leadership of the audit process
• Company Secretarial duties for all group companies
• Ensuring compliance with VAT and CIS schemes, submitting returns as necessary
• Liaison with HMRC, external auditors, joint venture partners and other third parties as required regarding statutory compliance matters.
• Lead the delivery of key deadlines across the department with focus on accuracy and timely outputs
• Ensure that outputs and work standards meet the expectations of all stakeholders
• Identifying opportunities to continually improve the information provided to the wider business

Profile

The successful candidate will be Fully ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified or qualified by experience. You will be able to pick up a management accounting role and be fairly autonomous. You will be a part of a small team and be taking a lead on the operational side of finance. You will also be provided with the opportunity to drive process improvements and translate findings to non-finance personnel.
