Accountancy Recruit is partnering with a global manufacturing business in the recruitment of a Management Accountant based within the Northwest European Regional Head Office in Bicester, Oxford, UK. The scope of the role is to support the Head of Finance, and mentor the finance team to deliver accurate month end closure to deadline. Additionally, the role will focus on developing processes and procedures, together with involvement in all aspects of financial management, including corporate accounting, regulatory and financial reporting: management accounts, reports, analysis, and commentary. Reporting to the Head of Finance - Northwest Europe.

Duties

  • Gather, process, and monitor financial data for the UK entity.
  • Prepare and publish timely monthly financial statements - balance sheets, profit, and loss statements, and cash flow statements.
  • Participate in the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts, reporting any variances.
  • Create and analysis monthly and annual reports to identify results, trends, and financial project-related forecasts.
  • Monthly review and reconciliation of accounting journals: accruals, prepayments, WIP, payroll.
  • Work closely with colleagues across two entities (UK and European) when dealing with various accounting operations: including billing, accounts receivable, accounts payable, general ledger, cost accounting, inventory accounting and revenue recognition.
  • Monitor project margins and report of any variances.
  • VAT accounting.
  • Oversee that all financial transactions are properly recorded, filed and reported.
  • Ensure all reporting is compliant with statutory law, financial regulations and group reporting guidelines.
  • Collaborating closely with the external/internal Audit Team and liaising with external personnel as required.
  • Assisting the Head of Finance in presenting reports to Senior Management, Stakeholders and Board Members.
  • Establish and maintain a well-defined quality system across the Finance function.
  • Meeting internal customer satisfaction (Managers and Employees), forecasting and Cognos reporting submission dates and dashboard analysis of Northwest Europe financial performance.

Person specification

  • Finance-related degree and/or professional qualification/ACCA/CIMA/ACA. Fully Qualified or Finalist.
  • 5 year's experience - preferably SME background, with experience within a multi-national group structure would be an advantage.
  • Advanced Excel.
  • Knowledge of Access Dimensions accounting software and Cognos would be an advantage.
  • Prior experience in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
  • Strong analytical and communication skills.
  • A passion for delivering with a high level of detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to perform under time and workload pressure.

Remuneration

  • Salary: £45 - 55,000 pa.
  • Hours: 9 - 5.30 pm (7.5-hour day / 37.5-hour week). Flexible working from 8-6 - core hours 10 and 4.
  • Hybrid: 3 days in the office - 2 days remote.
  • Holidays: 25 plus bank holidays. Shut down at Christmas, 3 days covered by company.
  • Pension: opt in after 3 months 3% employee 5% employer. 6.5% employee 8.75% employer after 6 months.
