Management Accountant

Opportunity to join a small team in North Yorkshire as Management Accountant, in a varied and hands-on position, playing a key role in delivering timely and accurate financial information to drive the business forward.

Description

• Preparation of monthly management accounts for review
• Review of P&L to ensure compliance with group finance, including appropriate commentary
• Regular review of key balance sheet reconciliations
• Undertake VAT returns and provide monthly intercompany balances
• Support the Financial Controller to design and maintain financial controls
• Own the fixed assets register and review P&L and balance sheets to ensure compliance with group policies
• Develop internal reporting frameworks
• Support wider business projects
• Conduct financial analysis and prepare detailed financial reports and statements.
• Support wider finance team, and mentor junior team members
• Optimise accounting processes and operations for efficiency and effectiveness.
• Engage in continuous process improvement
• Report to management on financial status and performance.

Profile

A successful Management Accountant should have:

• Professional certification such as CIMA, ACCA or equivalent.
• Knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
• Proficiency in relevant accounting software.
• Excellent analytical and numerical skills.
• Strong communication and presentation skills.
• Strong attention to detail
• The ability to work as part of a team.
