Management Accountant – Wellingborough - 35-50k

Intercounty Truck & Van Ltd has been operating as a Mercedes-Benz franchise for 20 years covering the five counties of Northamptonshire, Cambridgeshire, Lincolnshire, Buckinghamshire and Bedfordshire with dedicated commercial vehicle dealerships to support our customer base.

Key Responsibilities

• Responsibility for weekly & monthly reporting of the financial performance
• Support the team with forecasting and budgeting
• Tight deadlines due to group reporting timescales so monthly accounts are always time critical      
• Ability to interpret a set of operational accounts is key
• Balance sheet reconciliations
• Fixed asset register/ leasing accounting (we buy and fund a large number of vehicles each year)
• Revenue recognition and reconciliations (i.e. system revenue vs invoiced revenue)
• Operational performance stats analysis
• Key cost drivers analysis; maintenance, damage, wages etc
• Managing / supervising what is currently a team of 4 (growing to 5 shortly)
• Reporting to the FD but also exposure to MD

Ideal Candidate

• Ability to travel to other sites as required is very useful
• Ideally it would suit a qualified or very good “almost” qualified
• Very analytical as ensuring we are capturing all of the revenue etc is critical for us especially as we grow and revenue is derived from different systems etc.  The “back office” functions (P/L, S/L, Payroll, Credit Control, Cashbook etc) are performed in a different location.
