Management Accountant

• Annual Salary: Up to £50,000 (pro-rata, dependent on experience)
• Location: Medway Area
• Job Type: Full-time, 3-month interim contract with potential for permanency

We are currently seeking a Management Accountant for an immediate start on a three-month interim basis in the Medway area. This role is ideal for a candidate with a strong background in the construction industry, possessing in-depth knowledge of the Construction Industry Scheme (CIS) and VAT. The right candidate will have the opportunity to transition into a permanent position, contingent upon performance and business requirements.

• Prepare financial statements, including profit and loss accounts, budgets, cash flows, variance analysis, and commentaries.
• Ensure compliance with all financial regulations, including CIS and VAT submissions.
• Provide a support service by working with all departments and the management team to help make financial decisions.
• Analyse financial performance and contribute to medium and long-term business planning/forecasts.
• Offer professional judgement on financial matters and advise on ways of improving business performance.
• Interpret and communicate financial data to non-financial managers.
• Liaise with other function managers to put the finances and accounts in context.
• Monitor and evaluate financial information systems and suggest improvements where needed.

• Proven experience as a Management Accountant within the construction industry.
• Immediate availability to start the position.
• Strong understanding of CIS and VAT.
• Excellent analytical and numerical abilities.
• Proficiency in accounting software and MS Office.
• ACA, ACCA, or CIMA qualification is advantageous.
