Management Accountant Part time - 25 hours

About Our Client:
Founded in 1780 our client is a well trusted & respected quantity surveying firm that have traded as an independently private owned practice for over 240 years

Purpose and Scope of Role:
To undertake all allocated duties competently to support the smooth running of the Accounts department, providing cover and support for colleagues where required.

Main Responsibilities:
The main responsibilities of your role include, but are not limited to:

Task Specific/Technical

  • The delivery of high-quality transactional management accounting, including but not limited to:
  • Reconciling the time recording system to ensure all time has been entered on a weekly and monthly basis
  • Estimating/forecasting monthly results
  • Reconciling revenue against time recording system, ensuring all billable hours have been invoiced and investigating any discrepancies
  • Calculating accruals and prepayments (income and expenses)
  • Driving the reporting cycle forward to meet agreed deadlines
  • Preparation of monthly management accounts for the Managing Board
  • Producing high quality written Finance Reports to go alongside monthly management accounts
  • Tracking budgets and reporting on variances
  • Providing accurate and timely management information (MI) as required, ensuring business performance is appropriately summarised.
  • Undertaking regular financial business analysis as required by the Finance Manager or the Managing Board.
  • Providing informative and right first-time reports on either a routine or ad-hoc basis.
  • To undertake regular and ad-hoc reconciliations of all finance related information.
  • Maintain Project Ledger for accurate Project Accounting and Project Profitability Reporting
  • Consistently applying robust internal controls and procedures to ensure companies ongoing compliance with both statutory and its own reporting requirements.
  • Maintain appropriate records and audit trails to ensure your own area of responsibility is covered during absences.
  • Maintaining the highest level of confidentiality in handling sensitive financial information.

Education/Qualifications:
A formal accounting qualification (such as, CIMA or ACCA or equivalent).

Additional Skills or Experience:

  • Extensive knowledge of accounting protocols and software as appropriate for the role.
  • Demonstrable accounting experience gained within a similar role.
  • Excellent Excel Skills
  • Experience with Crystal Reports or similar software is desirable
  • Knowledge of Project Accounting

  • Sound organisational skills - with the ability to manage competing priorities to meet agreed deadlines.

  • Adaptable - able to positively overcome or adjust to changes in your role. A willingness to adopt new methods or techniques.

Location: Maidstone - ME15
Hours: 25 hours a week (Hybrid working policy on offer)
Benefits: £30,000 salary (45k full time equivalent), company benefits

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: £30,000.00 per year

Expected hours: 25 per week - Can be made up across various days of the week
