We’re currently working with a flourishing privately owned business that can offer an evolving and dynamic company environment in which staff feel highly valued and quickly develop. This entrepreneurial business is undergoing significant positive changes and scaling their operations currently, which in turn is creating great opportunities within the team, including this newly created role.

This company is forecasted to experience 45% revenue growth over the upcoming financial year. In addition, they’re looking at several process and system improvement projects for that period. There will be ample opportunity for this individual to add real value and partner the Financial Controller in expanding and developing the finance function. Job spec:

  • Development and refinement of weekly and monthly management information and reporting.
  • Preparation of monthly management accounts, including P&L, Balance Sheet, and Cashflow.
  • Perform balance sheet reconciliations, journals, and control general accruals and prepayments.
  • Maintain and update budget and forecast spreadsheets
  • Support annual and quarterly planning processes, including business plans and resource allocation.
  • Collaboration with key stakeholders/budget holders in the business to ensure optimal cost management and accurate reporting.
  • Leading initiatives to identify and implement process improvements in the finance function, with a focus on enhancing efficiency and automation.
  • Optimising ERP reporting flows into the management accounts pack.
  • Contributing to the effective management of working capital.
  • Assisting in the development and management of annual budgets and ensuring alignment with organisational goals.
  • Supporting the Financial Controller with the year-end audit process, as well as quarterly VAT returns.
  • Producing ad-hoc internal reports for senior management.
  • Supporting the efficient operation of the Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions.

Person requirements:

  • CIMA / ACCA part qualified to newly qualified level with hands-on management accounting experience in industry.
  • Excellent Excel skills at least strong intermediate level
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, capable of effective communication both in writing and verbally.
  • You are a true team player with a collaborative approach.
