This is a fantastic opportunity reporting to the head of finance where you will be responsible for organising, analysing, interpreting and presenting accounting information for the business.

Responsibilities of the Management Accountant:

Preparation of timely, accurate monthly management accounts and other appropriate financial information for the head of finance to present to the directors.

This exciting opportunity would suit a finance professional with a proven track record in overseeing comprehensive financial management, including corporate accounting, regulatory and financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and developing internal control policies.

Your responsibilities will include preparing timely, accurate monthly management accounts and other appropriate financial information for the head of finance to present to the executive committee.

Coordinate and direct the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts and report variances.

Coordinate the preparation of regulatory reporting.

Support month-end and year-end close process.

Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting.

Support the daily operations of the accounting department.

Monitoring and analysing accounting data and producing financial reports or statements.

Manage invoices daily from the operation post fixture department.

Process staff expense claims and analyse credit card accounts and journal payments.

Report to the CFO with timely and accurate financial information.

Ideally the Management Accountant will have:

• Proven track record working in Finance, within the dry bulk shipping sector/ commodity trading sector.
• Must have an accounting qualification or is a finalist - ACA/ACCA/CIMA.
• Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures.
• Experience and working with financial statements.
• Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process.
• Energy and drive to get the job done.
• Ability to manipulate large amounts of data.
• High attention to detail and accuracy.
• Advanced Excel skills including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPs, Formulars and Macros.
