Sheridan Maine is currently collaborating with a dynamic and forward-thinking organisation based in the heart of Swindon, that is seeking a dedicated Management Accountant to join their finance team on a maternity cover basis.

As Management Accountant, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of our client’s financial reporting processes. This position will primarily involve reconciling and completing statutory returns, conducting monthly balance sheet reconciliations, and assisting in the review of regional month-end P&L accounts and KPIs. You will have the opportunity to work in a supportive and collaborative environment, with the option for hybrid working arrangements.

Your responsibilities as the Management Accountant will include:
  • Submission of monthly VAT returns.
  • Submission and payment of monthly CIS and PAYE returns.
  • Review balance sheet movements and produce clear and concise reconciliations monthly.
  • Posting central journals, including project cost allocation, accruals, and prepayments.
  • Collaborate with auditors to support with year-end audit.
  • Provision and creation of other Management Information.
  • Assist with business unit budget and forecasts.

To be considered for the role of Management Accountant, you will:
  • Qualified or part-qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent). QBE will also be considered.
  • Understanding of financial and operational information and processes.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines.
  • Good technical knowledge of VAT (including RCV) and CIS.
