Our client is growing SME construction company that due to impressive growth they are currently seeking a Part/Newly Qualified Accountant to join their team based in Bromley Kent. They have a specialism in High End residential and the Wellness Sector. They are hugely client focused look to look to build strong client bonds seeing the projects from design through to completion.

The ideal candidate will have a background of transactional accounting experience with exposure to Management Accounts and Monthly reporting. The role will require someone to ideally work in the office , but they offer more flexibility post-onboarding and once settled in

As the Management Accountant you will be responsible for overseeing and facilitating all areas of the finance function reporting into the owner and senior management team. The role is very hands-on, and requires someone who is willing to take initiative, work hard and manage their workload independently.

Some of the key responsibilities will include:

  • Preparation of monthly management accounts and dealing with communications from outside agencies including HMRC.
  • Liaise with external Accountancy Firm on a regular basis over finance matters
  • Responsible for project finance and ensuring the leadership team are kept upto date with progress and cash flows
  • Reconciling the cashbook to the bank, verifying sub-contractor's CIS status, collating and reporting CIS data to HMRC and preparing VAT returns (MTD).
  • Verification of purchase ledger balances, processing monthly payroll, generating sales invoices, credit control and addressing queries, investigations and problems.
  • Compilation of P11D reportable expenditure, verification of balance sheet control accounts, overhead expenditure, calculation of prepayments and accruals, and input.
  • Verification of balance sheet accounts, calculation of WIP, and update and maintenance of profit forecast models.
  • Preparation of year end accounts and dealing with audit queries.
  • You will also be responsible for looking at and improving systems and processes, including upgrading current Accounting system to cope with the growth.

To be considered for the role, you will ideally have a professional accounting qualification or studying towards this. You should be a hard worker and be willing to take on additional responsibilities.
