Are you a dedicated and compassionate male professional with a passion for supporting children with autism and complex needs?

Tradewind Recruitment are working with a fantastic special school in Harborne who are committed to providing exceptional education and support for children with a range of special educational needs. The role is to start immediately after the May half-term, Monday-Friday.

As a Male Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing tailored support to pupils with autism and complex needs. Working closely with teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals, you will contribute to the development and implementation of individualised learning plans to ensure that every child receives the support they need to thrive.

Key Responsibilities:

Providing one-to-one and small group support to pupils with autism and complex needs.

Implementing strategies to promote social skills development, communication, and emotional regulation.

Assisting with academic tasks and supporting pupils in accessing the curriculum.

Collaborating with teachers and SENCOs to monitor progress and evaluate the effectiveness of interventions.

Building positive relationships with pupils, parents, and external agencies to ensure a holistic approach to support.

Requirements:

Experience supporting pupils with autism and complex needs in an educational setting.

Strong understanding of autism spectrum disorders and strategies for supporting individuals with complex needs.

Patience, empathy, and excellent communication skills.

Ability to work effectively as part of a team and use your initiative when required.

Relevant qualifications and training in special educational needs are desirable but not essential.
