Maintenance Technician

We are working with an industry leading client on the lookout for a Maintenance Technician to join their team at Canvey Island.

This Maintenance Technician will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation the terminal's control and instrumentation systems. This is the largest of our client’s facilities in the UK, operating as an Upper Tier COMAH site. Operating 24/7, 365 days a year, this role requires flexibility for out-of-hours working on a standby and call-out basis.

Key responsibilities:

  • Perform detailed job planning for maintenance and repair activities
  • Conduct preventive, corrective, and diagnostic maintenance on instrumentation and control systems
  • Troubleshoot, repair, calibrate, and test various types of control instruments and systems
  • Assist in the installation and retrofitting of control instruments
  • Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures
  • Input data into the work management system
  • Maintain safety, fire, and gas equipment
  • Assist in the calibration and testing of plant vibration monitoring and shutdown systems

As such we would like you to have:

  • HNC (or equivalent) qualification in Instrumentation & Control
  • Comp EX certification
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience oil & gas
  • Electrical Wiring Regulations (EWR) training
  • Proficiency in work management systems
  • Ability to track and update schematic drawings and reports
