gap technical are proud to be representing this global manufacturing business in their search for a Maintenance Planner to work at their facility based near Birmingham

Performance Objectives

  • To provide a professional engineering & maintenance support through the application of appropriate expertise, knowledge, and experience.
  • Ensure all maintenance activities are scheduled, planned and resource is efficiently utilised.
  • Work within the Planning team to ensure that all duties associated with and to the Planning Department are conducted efficiently.
  • To engage in the continued improvement and development of the Maintenance Planning Department.
  • Work within the Planning team to ensure that site fulfils its compliance obligations (e.g. Lifting tackle & Crane inspections, LEV inspections, receiver inspections, etc)
  • Work within the Planning team to ensure that sites Planned Maintenance schedule is achievable and fitting to the needs of the business. (Site planning model)
  • Assist with shutdown planning and project planning.
  • Work closely with the Area Engineers and Area Team Leaders/Managers to develop, improve and progress maintenance procedures and reliability (using the sites maintenance planning model)
  • Support Area Engineers where required.
  • Review and amend corrective and planned work orders to accurately reflect the tasks.
  • Facilitate and review and amend the step-by-step procedure for work tasks.
  • Facilitate and review current dockets to ensure correct content.
  • Work within the Planning team to ensure that there is an accurate training plan for personnel within the department and it is complied with.
  • Coordination of spares and the refurbishment program in conjunction with area Engineers and Team Leaders
  • Generate, maintain, and deliver KPI's as necessary.
  • Work within the Planning team to improve the functionality of the maintenance systems (e.g. CMMS etc)

Person Specification

  • Experience or a strong desire to work within a manufacturing/production environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to liaise at all levels.
  • Experience with planning and scheduling of works.
  • Ability to take on small projects.
  • Chair meetings.
  • Deliver KPI's in the agreed format.
  • Experience in dealing with contractors and contracted services (service contracts).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Technical knowledge within the areas of heavy engineering and fast paced production environments.
  • Ability to analyse technically complex problems and develop the most appropriate solutions.
  • Ability to work with others (at all levels of the organisation) and positively influence a team along with a proven record of implementing change within the engineering and maintenance environment.
  • Mechanical/Electrical background.
  • Team leadership experience.
