The Company

Our client is an established, family-run business that supplies a wide range of pharmaceutical and healthcare products.

Due to success within their sector, they are now seeking a Maintenance Engineer to join their team in Gloucester on a full-time basis working 7:45 – 4:45 Monday – Thursday and 7:45 – 12:30 on Fridays. There is also a requirement to take part in rotational shifts between Monday and Thursday working 9 – 6 and Friday afternoons from 12:30 – 4:30.

The Role

As a Maintenance Engineer, you will provide electrical and mechanical maintenance support to our client’s manufacturing operations.

Specifically, working within a pharmaceutical, regulated facility, you will undertake maintenance and repairs to all manufacturing equipment, utilities, buildings and facilities. You will also carry out planned preventative maintenance for tabletting and packaging equipment.

You will fault-find to identify and correct problems and install and commission new equipment throughout the site, making sure to work in a safe, compliant manner at all times.

About You

To be considered as a Maintenance Engineer, you will need:

- Trade experience as an electrician, mechanical engineer, toolmaker, fitter turner or machine tool fitter (or similar)
- The ability to follow written instructions and write or amend documentation, such as SOPs
- The ability to work well as part of a team and on your own initiative
- At a minimum, a C&G qualification
- Nationally recognised apprenticeship in a mechanical or electrical engineering discipline
- Multi-skilled with NVQ level 3 or higher in electrical or mechanical engineering (HNC/HND – desirable)
- Proficient in MS Office and PPM systems, with understanding of electrical and mechanical drawings
- Experience in managing on-site contractors
- Proactive approach to fault finding and commitment to continuous improvement

PLC and machinery control knowledge would be beneficial to your application. Experience of HVAC systems and/or working steam knowledge would also be an advantage, as would knowledge of pharmaceutical regulatory requirements. Knowledge of Machining, Fabrication and TIG welding skills would also be desirable, as would Microsoft Office or CAD skills.
