Tailor-Made Tour Operator based in the North-West, who sell through Travel Agents, are now looking to continue their success! They are recruiting a Luxury Travel Consultant who is experienced in booking bespoke itineraries, but who would also like to take on a role of promoting this Tour Operator to Scottish Travel Agencies, and increase their market present. This is a lovely opportunity to still sell luxury itineraries, but also 'dip your toe' into business development to travel agencies (agency sales). The successful candidate will have solid experience of working in travel sales for a luxury Tour Operator, (especially Canada, North America, Caribbean and Australiasia). Salary is dependent on experience, plus excellent earnings potential, but the real beauty of this position is the opportunity to combine travel consulting with trade sales.

Specialising in long-haul, this Tour Operator create bespoke itineraries from super luxury beach holidays to multi-centre adventure holidays, travelling independent or as part of a group. Whatever their High-Net-Worth Clients are seeking, they can create!

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Travel Consultant

  • Liaising via phone and email, primarily via Travel Agencies to put together a variety of wonderful travel itineraries, for the discerning traveller
  • Aim to make dream holidays a reality by ensuring you understand all the clients' needs, to create the most appropriate itinerary
  • Key destinations include the USA, Canada, Indian Ocean and Australasia
  • Types of holidays vary with the needs of the clients: beach, adventurer, history, culture, exploring the natural world, city destinations, multi-centres, independent or group travel
  • Source ground arrangements with overseas supplier.
  • Using your travel industry experience and solid destination / product knowledge to assist you in advising your clients on their options
  • Offering excellent customer service throughout the process, to ensure an amazing holiday experience including follows ups post travel
  • Working towards sales targets to achieve commission that is uncapped.
  • Working hours 0845-1745 Mon-Fri (Saturdays on a fair rota basis with a day off in lieu)

Business Development:

  • The successful candidate would be the 'go to' Travel Consultants for their Scottish Travel Agency Clients
  • Spend approximately one day per work, promoting this Tour Operator to new Travel Agencies and increase their market share, cementing relationships with existing Travel Agency
  • The business development side will involve some travel within Scotland to see Travel Agencies in person.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

You will have previous experience of working for a luxury Tour Operator, have sold long-haul and tailor-made itineraries, be based in Scotland and keen to progress into agency sale.

THE PACKAGE:

Starting salary is dependent on experience/negotiable but between £25k-£28k pa. There is uncapped commission and averages vary from £500-£800 per month, this company focuses on their team, the culture, the progression and prides itself on a positive and supportive environment.
