Loss Adjusting Assistant/Claims Handler
The Role:
- Perform a variety of administrative tasks to support the smooth running of the Loss Adjusting team, engaging with all areas of the business.
Key Activities:
o Support Loss Adjusters with a range of administrative tasks. These include (but are not limited to):
o Setting up Loss Adjusting case files.
o Handling and redirecting inbound telephone calls.
o Distributing inbound post.
o Answering queries and providing information to Loss Adjusters as required.
o Compiling invoice data.
o Processing payments.
o Updating the Claims Management Portal System.
o Collating and organising data.
o Filing of paper and electronic documents.
o General administrative tasks.
o Provide excellent customer service and maintain positive relationships with internal and external stakeholder
o Participate in any internal or external training as required, including CII/CILA qualifications. The company will cover the cost of all training fees but reserves the right to claim back some or all of the costs should you leave the company within a certain timeframe (as stipulated in your contract of employment).
o Abide by all relevant legal requirements, industry guidelines and company standards.
o Actively participate in team discussions to highlight issues and promote group learning.
o Perform other tasks as reasonably required by your nominated Loss Adjuster, Line Managers or Senior Management.
Skills and Experience required:
o Proven track record in an office administration role. Experience of insurance or financial services sector desirable.
o Strong IT skills, including MS Word, Excel, Outlook and Teams. Experience of Claims Management Portal Systems preferred but not expected (training on company system will be given).
o Strong verbal and written communication skills.
o Excellent interpersonal skills. Able to quickly build positive and effective relationships.
o Willing to ask questions and seek assistance when required.
o Well organised with excellent time management skills. Able to multitask effectively to meet varying deadlines.
o Excellent attention to detail and high levels of accuracy.
o Team player
o Confident working independently under instruction.
o Able to develop an understanding of the processes within the organisation and support the wider team as required.
o Educated to A-Level or equivalent standard, with GCSE English Language grade 5/C or equivalent.
