Job Description:

Are you a dedicated and compassionate social worker with a commitment to supporting looked-after children? We are seeking a skilled individual to join our team in Middlesbrough as a Look After Children Social Worker. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in ensuring the safety, well-being, and positive development of children in care.

Responsibilities:

Undertake assessments of children and their families to determine their needs and circumstances, and make recommendations for appropriate care arrangements.
Develop and implement care plans in collaboration with children, their families, and relevant stakeholders, ensuring they are tailored to meet the individual needs of each child.
Provide ongoing support and advocacy to children in care, advocating for their rights and best interests.
Liaise with foster carers, residential care providers, schools, and other professionals involved in the care of looked-after children to ensure coordinated support and consistent care.
Monitor the progress and well-being of children in care, conducting regular visits and reviews, and making adjustments to care plans as necessary.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all interactions, assessments, and interventions in accordance with legal and professional standards.

Qualifications:

Qualified Social Worker registered with Social Work England.
Experience working with looked-after children and/or in child protection services.
Strong assessment, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with children and families.
Knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, and procedures related to child welfare and safeguarding.
Empathy, resilience, and a commitment to promoting the well-being and rights of looked-after children.
