Our client, a well-established Logistics and Haulage solutions specialist, with an excellent reputation within the industry is currently recruiting for an experienced Business Development Manager. This is an exciting opportunity for an energetic and self-motivated individual with a proven track record in seeking and winning new business in the freight forwarding industry.

The successful candidate will take on full responsibility for attracting new business through effective business development whilst promoting and highlighting products and value-added services provided by our client. You may be asked to carry out additional tasks within your capability, in order to meet the needs of the business.

Key Duties & Responsibilities Include:

  • The continuous introduction of new clients to the business.
  • Bringing in new clients and integrating them seamlessly within the business.
  • Developing and refining SOPs for each client with the Commercial and Operations teams.
  • Utilising the teams and infrastructure to source solutions to provide to clients.
  • Attending trade events and networking opportunities.
  • Reintroducing dormant companies that have worked with the company previously.
  • Follow Directors and Manager’s sales direction and strategy, as well as suggesting new potential opportunities.

Experience / Skills Required:

  • Proven track record in freight sales and business development
  • Experience of working in Imports or Exports Operational roles
  • Knowledge in required customs documentation, certificates, or licences and general Customs Compliance
  • Build and maintain strong influential relationships
  • Knowledge of Tariffs
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Strong negotiation skills and the ability to close sales
  • Good problem-solving skills and geographical knowledge
