Pay rate £40 an hour Ltd Company

A Locum opportunity for a period of 3 months, until the end of July working 5 days a week, approx 37.5 hours within 8am-6pm Mon-Fri to start as soon as possible.

The Company

My client is a global leading provider and manufacturer of healthcare solutions. This is a fantastic opportunity for a hard-working motivated Pharmacist to join their Aseptic unit in the Hospital Care Department on a locum basis to meet temporary demand.

The Opportunity

As a Locum Pharmacist, you will be committing towards dispensing, checking and creating Homecare formulations that allow the transfer of patient care effectively from the hospital to their home, under the guidance and supervision of experienced members of the production team. Everything is a team effort - You will be part of a wider team and this means getting involved, caring about your team mates and working together closely.

Additionally, you may undertake the duties of a Responsible Pharmacist in the absence of Superintendent and Senior Homecare Pharmacists.

Some key responsibilities for the job are:

  • Dispense and check medicinal products eg. Prescriptions for Parental Nutrition and ancillaries and home dialysis patients.
  • Manage the day to day operations of the home dialysis dispensing process in the absence of the Superintendent or Senior Homecare Pharmacists.
  • Set up and check homecare Parental Nutrition formulations and prescriptions, liaising with referring prescribers as appropriate.
  • Contribute to on-going quality improvement eg. reporting of errors, near-misses, complaints and incidents and support training of pharmacy technicians and dispensers.

Please note, this role will involve fridge-work.

About You

To apply for this role, you should also be able to start within 1-2 weeks of applying and be comfortable with fridge work.

You should also demonstrate the following:

  • MSc in Pharmacy
  • GPhC qualified
  • Experience as a Pharmacist in industry, hospital or community
  • Ability to perform under pressure in a busy environment whilst maintaining a strong level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
