Position Overview: We are currently seeking a dynamic and experienced Locum Pharmacy Technician (Band 7/8) to join our team. In this role, you will play a pivotal role in supporting pharmacy operations and delivering high-quality pharmaceutical services to patients. Responsibilities:
  • Dispense and supply medication accurately and efficiently in accordance with legal and professional standards.
  • Assist in the management of pharmacy services, including stock control, ordering, and receiving pharmaceutical deliveries.
  • Provide expert pharmaceutical advice and support to patients, healthcare professionals, and other stakeholders.
  • Conduct medication reviews and contribute to the development and implementation of pharmaceutical care plans.
  • Oversee the safe and effective handling of controlled drugs and high-risk medications.
  • Maintain accurate pharmacy records and documentation, including patient profiles, medication histories, and dispensing records.
  • Collaborate with pharmacists and other members of the healthcare team to optimize patient care and medication management.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant pharmacy regulations, policies, and procedures, including health and safety standards.
  • Participate in the training and supervision of pharmacy staff and students as required.

Requirements:
  • NVQ Level 3 Diploma in Pharmacy Service Skills or equivalent qualification
  • Registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) as a Pharmacy Technician
  • Extensive experience working as a Pharmacy Technician at Band 7/8 level in a hospital or clinical setting
  • Strong clinical knowledge and expertise in pharmacy practice, including medication management and pharmaceutical calculations
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Proven ability to prioritize and manage workload in a fast-paced environment
  • Commitment to maintaining professional standards and continuing professional development
