Position Overview: We are currently seeking a proficient and experienced Locum Accredited Checking Pharmacy Technician (Band 6) to join our team. In this role, you will play a vital part in ensuring the accuracy and safety of medication dispensing processes and supporting pharmacists in delivering high-quality pharmaceutical care to patients.

Responsibilities:
  • Perform the final accuracy checks of dispensed prescriptions, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and organizational policies.
  • Assist in the dispensing and preparation of medications, including labelling, packaging, and assembly of medication orders.
  • Collaborate with pharmacists and other healthcare professionals to optimize medication therapy and promote patient safety.
  • Maintain accurate records of medication dispensing activities and contribute to the maintenance of pharmacy inventory.
  • Provide medication counselling and advice to patients on the safe and effective use of prescribed medications.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and adherence to best practices in pharmacy operations.

Requirements:
  • Accredited Checking Pharmacy Technician (ACPT) qualification or equivalent accreditation
  • Registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) as a Pharmacy Technician
  • Proven experience working as a Pharmacy Technician in a hospital or clinical setting
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in medication dispensing processes
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
