Underwriter

You will be able to demonstrate exceptional communication skills, an ability to work independently and a genuine desire to make a meaningful impact within a rapidly growing organisation. You will report into the Underwriting Team Manager.

Responsibilities/Duties

· Perform risk assessments on potential loan recipients based on credit rating, borrowing history, and other specific risk factors.

· Understand the rules and regulations that govern lending

· Work seamlessly with other team members to ensure a smooth, speedy application process for potential customers.

· Review and verify supporting documentation.

· Conduct thorough and accurate research

· Respond to all customer enquiries/applications

· Performing administrative tasks as assigned by the Line Manager

Requirements

· Outstanding communication & listening skills.

· Educated to GCSE level in both Maths and English.

· 2+years’ experience in a Financial Services environment.

· Excellent customer service skills.

· The integrity to respect private and confidential information.

· The ability to work to SLAs in a high-pressure working environment.

· Attention to detail.

· Excellent active listening skills.

· Patience & Resilience.

· A professional telephone manner.

· High quality computer and numeracy skills.

Schedule: Monday to Friday Full-time Office based, Permanent

Education: GCSE or equivalent (preferred)

Experience:

  • Financial services: 2 years (required)
  • Underwriting: 2 years (required)
