One of Scotland’s most dynamic and progressive law firms, TC Young, are looking for a Legal Support Apprentice to join their team.  They provide commercial and personal legal services to a range of clients; from individuals, to family firms, to large businesses throughout Scotland.

The main purpose of your role will be to provide flexible pro-active administrative support within their Edinburgh Office, in accordance with firm policies.

What does a typical day look like?

  • Supporting the Court team with processing of all paperwork
  • Co-ordination of the storage, scanning, indexing, filing and retrieval of titles within the firm
  • Liaising with clients of the firm via telephone
  • Assisting with offsite storage and shredding
  • Dealing with incoming and outgoing mail
  • Photocopying
  • Producing documents as and when required following the instructions of the author
  • General administrative duties

Salary:

£16,000 - £17,500 per annum

Working week:

Monday to Friday, 9am - 5pm

Future prospects:

Should you perform well, you will have the opportunity to move into a permanent position. Also upon completion of your apprenticeship, as your role and responsibilities grow, your salary will reflect this.

This vocational apprenticeship comprehensively supports your specific job role with this particular employer.  Throughout your learning journey, you are fully supported by your dedicated QA skills coach and your mentor at work.  They ensure you settle in, help you develop all the skills you need to be successful in your job role and pass your assessments, and can provide one to one support.

Starting with insights into your current potential, they plan your growth in a programmatic way, close skills gaps with immersive training and ensure what you learn is applicable to what you do. They talk you through the specifics on the qualifications you gain and how they align in particular to your day to day role.

On completion, as well as the valuable work experience you have gained, you get a nationally recognised qualification at SCQF Level 6.
