We are currently seeking an experienced and highly organised Legal Secretary to join our client, a leading law firm based in the heart of Birmingham. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing administrative support to legal professionals, drafting legal documents, and managing diaries and correspondence.

Responsibilities:

  • Providing administrative support to legal professionals while maintaining strict confidentiality
  • Audio dictation and typing legal documents and correspondence
  • Managing diaries and arranging meetings, including booking meeting rooms, refreshments, and audio/visual equipment as needed
  • Filing and organising paperwork, including electronic and hard copy files
  • Answering phones and responding to emails in a professional and courteous manner
  • Liaising with clients and other parties, both in person and over the phone, while maintaining a high level of professionalism and confidentiality
  • Assisting with any other duties as required by the legal team

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Legal Secretary or similar role, preferably within a law firm
  • Excellent typing and computer skills, including experience with audio dictation software
  • Strong organisational and multitasking abilities, with a keen eye for detail and accuracy
  • Knowledge of legal terminology and procedures, including experience with legal research
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with all levels of staff and clients
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and discretion at all times
