Our client is a leading global entertainment company that stands at the forefront of film and television production, distribution and sales. 
We are looking for a film, TV or commercial IP lawyer to join as Legal Counsel on a 12-month maternity cover, starting in July 2024.
 
The Role 
The ideal candidate will have experience in film and television, either from an in-house or private practice background OR will be a commercial IP lawyer with an understanding of copyright and a passion for film and TV.
 
Key responsibilities will include:  

  • Drafting, reviewing, negotiating and amending distribution agreements for Film and TV acquisitions, notices of assignment, Film and TV development agreements and television and digital license agreements
  • Advising the business on the implications of contractual provisions including rights and holdback provisions and other issues arising from distribution agreements and other legal documents
  • Reviewing, amending and approving music, footage and third-party licenses for Film and TV acquisitions, ensuring that the final delivered versions are fully cleared
  • Supporting the Marketing, Corporate and other teams on a range of matters, including publicity contracts, competition Ts and Cs etc.
