Legal Cashier – Haywards Heath – up to £38,000
 
We are seeking an experienced Legal Cashier to join a well-regarded and fast-growing legal practice. The ideal candidate will possess a solid understanding of SRA regulations, exceptional IT skills, strong communication abilities, and a willingness to thrive in a dynamic team environment. This role offers the opportunity to tackle new challenges and contribute to the continued success of this excellent firm.
 
Responsibilities:
  • Invoicing, bank reconciliation, and managing sales and purchase ledgers.
  • Processing client payments and conducting client office transfers.
  • Producing and verifying statements and billings.
  • Handling consultant invoicing and assisting with VAT returns.
  • Monthly payroll processing and month-end reporting.
  • Operating case management systems (e.g., Actionstep) and accounting software (e.g., Zero).
  • Providing support to consultant solicitors and the retained team.
  • Addressing client queries and managing outstanding debts.
  • Maintaining accurate records and staying updated on SRA rules and VAT regulations.
  • Following file closing processes and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
 
Required Knowledge and Experience:
  • Proficiency in legal cashiering duties with a minimum of 2 years' experience in a similar role.
  • Sound knowledge of SRA regulations and compliance standards.
  • Excellent IT skills, particularly in accounting software and case management systems.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to thrive in a busy team environment.
  • Flexibility and openness to taking on new responsibilities.
  • Strong academic background with good academic results.
 
Salary Range: £35,000 - £38,000 per annum DOE
Hours of Work: Monday to Thursday, 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM; Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
