Imperial Professionals are currently recruiting exclusively for a national Training Provider / College who are looking to appoint a Lecturer - Personal Development

Salary: Up to £47,500 per annum
Contract Type: Permanent
Location: Erith
Hours: Full time

Job Purpose

Reporting to the Programme Manager, the Personal Development Lecturer is part of the curriculum delivery team and is responsible for the presentation, updating and development of courses at the College that are suitable for meeting the training needs of the industry.

Responsibilities:

  • Leading on further developing, embedding and delivering the personal development curriculum objectives, in practical, theoretical and in the workplace settings, in line with outstanding teaching and learning, for all apprentices.
  • Ensure that all personal development course delivery material, equipment, training aids, and documentation is continually reviewed and updated to ensure delivery requirements are meeting current guidelines, and are referenced to the personal development section, within the current Ofsted educational inspection framework.
  • Promote and maintain a safe learning environment ensuring that whilst the delivery of programmes is conducted that the health and safety of all involved is maintained throughout training utilising our Safe Smart program.
  • Collaborate with the Programme Manager to help develop Instructional staff and apprentice Instructors, in line with the current teaching, learning and assessment and marked work and feedback strategies.
  • Act as lead, working with the programme managers and the welfare manager, to develop and embed a comprehensive enrichment programme, which can be offered to all learners across the college.
  • Act as lead for maintaining and developing NCC’s eLearning portfolio enabling all learners ' course reports, assessment forms, and other relevant documentation is accurately captured, as required by awarding organisations, training standards and NCC quality procedures.
  • Play an integral role in supporting CITB’s quality improvement plan, for the teaching and learning process and in line with Ofsted requirements, ensuring that a standardised approach is adopted throughout the Colleges.
  • Plan and prioritise work given by line manager.
  • Identify improvements and innovations in delivery to be supported with involvement of line manager and relevant stakeholders.
  • Adhere to manufacturers instruction and information, always follow College Safe Systems of Work and Risk Assessments.
  • The role requires the individual to lead by example.
  • Communicate with Programme Managers across all areas.


Essentials:

  • Recognised apprenticeship and or academic or vocational qualifications to at least level 3.
  • Hold a relevant teaching qualification and be willing to work towards level 5 Teaching Qualification.
  • Experience of delivering a personal development, tutorial, enrichment, or pastoral curriculum in an educational setting.
  • Hold a mentoring and or coaching qualification or work toward that to be completed within 1 year of appointment.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills Level 2 Numeracy and Literacy.
  • Sound proven knowledge of the personal development framework under the Ofsted educational inspection framework.
  • Extensive experience within own vocational area or across multiple disciplines within an educational setting.
  • Proven ability to motivate, enthuse and develop positive attitudes in learners and support them to overcome barriers to learning and progression.
  • Motivated, well organised, and efficient.
  • Hold or be willing to work towards SMSTS and attain the certification within six months of appointment.
  • Will have maximised their own portfolio of subjects they can deliver.


Desirable

  • Hold a relevant management or supervisory qualification.
  • Hold the relevant qualification and experience to be able to deliver teacher training qualifications.
  • Evidence of attendance of Safeguarding Training.
