About the Role

We are looking for someone who will further develop this area by working with students to ensure they achieve their best potential. You will be required for the teaching, learning and assessment of sport and public services with specialisms in Sport Coaching, Exercise Science and personal training.

The successful candidate will ideally have experience working in the sport and exercise sector and subject expertise to teach across L1 – L6 provision in Sport and Public Services

The successful candidate will be responsible for learner progress on L3 study programmes in both sport and public services 

You will be responsible for the success of students and providing an enriched curriculum. This will include recruitment, providing advice and guidance to students on their progression routes, and developing industry links that provide them with enrichment and work experience. You will track and monitor student progress to ensure timely completion and achievement.

The role of lecturer is to equip our students with skills for their future through the delivery of outstanding education and training and inspire students to achieve their potential. This role offers you the opportunity to do this every day. It is the job satisfaction that comes from this that makes a teaching role special. The key roles of a Lecturer are to deliver excellent teaching, completing the relevant preparation and marking that supports this, and to set SMART targets to enable students to reach their potential.

You will…

play an important role in developing creative resources to inspire outstanding learning and will be responsible for the monitoring and tracking of learner progress to promote positive outcomes for learners.

Candidates should be an effective and motivated team player, with excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with colleagues and management to achieve strategic and organisational objectives.

You will either hold or be willing to work towards your teaching qualification and should hold the relevant vocational qualifications to be able to deliver a high standard of teaching to our students.

You will be able to bring the subject to life, using combined, innovative methods of teaching delivery which will engage your learners and provide them with the best skills, knowledge and behaviours for the future.

You will work as part of the curriculum team of Sport & Public Services at Dearne Valley College. You will be line managed by the Curriculum Manager.
