Position: Learning Support Assistant
Location: Mainstream Secondary School, Southwark
Start Date: Immediate
Contract: Full-time, Long-term (Until the end of the academic year)
Salary: Competitive, Depending on Experience

About Us:

Our vibrant and inclusive Mainstream Secondary School in Southwark is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant to join our dynamic team. We are committed to providing a supportive and nurturing environment where every student can thrive.

Responsibilities:

As a Learning Support Assistant, your main responsibilities will include:

  1. Providing one-on-one support: Working closely with students to provide individualised assistance, ensuring they have the necessary support to reach their full potential.

  2. Assisting with classroom activities: Collaborating with teachers to create an inclusive learning environment, adapting materials and activities to meet the diverse needs of students.

  3. Promoting independence: Encouraging and supporting students to develop independence and confidence in their academic and social skills.

  4. Monitoring and reporting: Keeping track of student progress and behaviour, and providing regular feedback to teachers and parents.

  5. Supporting students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND): Utilising your experience with SEND to provide tailored assistance and accommodations as needed.

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Previous child-based experience: A proven track record of working with children in an educational or supportive capacity.

  • DBS on the update service: A valid Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check on the update service to ensure the safety and well-being of our students.

  • Experience with SEND: A solid understanding of and experience working with students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities.

  • Passion for education: A genuine enthusiasm for contributing to the educational development and well-being of young individuals.
