Tradewind Recruitment are currently looking for an experienced Learning Support Assistant to join this SEN college in Haringey, North London. This a long-term role working full time for the rest of the academic year.

The School:

You will be working for a national charity for autistic children and young people who stand with autistic children and young people, and champion their rights? to create opportunities. The charity run specialist education services and an award-winning employment programme. Children and young people are at the heart of the charity's decision-making, policy work and campaigning.

As a Learning Support Assistant you will be responsible for the below:

  • Supporting 16+ learners in small groups and on a 1:1 basis
  • Encouraging and promoting student engagement in the classroom
  • Contributing to community led activities
  • Teaching life skills in preparation for transitioning into adult life
  • Collaborating with staff, parents/carers, and outside agencies
  • Monitoring and recording student progress and achievements

To join us and be successful in this role you will ideally need :

  • Previous experience working with children with ASD or SEN
  • An Enhanced DBS Disclosure, Overseas Police Clearances (if applicable) and professional reference checks
  • CV must cover the last 10 years of employment history where possible
  • Legal right to work in the UK
