Learning Support Assistant

One of Welwyn Garden Cities leading Secondary Schools is looking to appoint a Learning Support Assistant following the Easter Break to join their team and provide support to students with Special Educational Needs (SEN). This is a great opportunity regardless of experience and open to Graduates.
Responsibilities:
- Support students on a one-to-one support basis including those with ADHD, autism and moderate learning difficulties.
- Collaborate and work alongside excellent teachers to develop and implement individualised support programs.
- Monitor and report on progression, providing feedback to teachers, parents and external agencies where applicable.
- Support students in and out of the classroom, including during break times and lunchtimes.
- Assist in the development of students social and emotional skills.
The ideal candidate will possess:
- Previous experience supporting children with SEN.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude.
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- A valid DBS check.
This is a temporary to permanent position, with pay ranging from £80 to £115 per day depending on experience, start dates can be from May or sooner and the post is expected to last a minimum of 1 year and lead to a permanent appointment by the school.
