A mixed gender SEN school of 40 children is seeking a Learning Support Assistant. The 'Good' school for ages ranges from 7-19 provides specific and tailored support to children and young adults with a range learning difficulties and complex needs. These include children on the Autistic Spectrum as well as those with Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties.

Your daily responsibilities as a learning support assistant:

  • Completing administrative work alongside teachers and therapists
  • Supporting a child/children with their academics work
  • De-escalating situations if a child becomes agitated
  • Supporting children with eating and sometimes toileting
  • Working with teachers to establish the learning outcomes of lessons
  • Supervising children around the campus

Requirements of you:

  • A child & adult DBS (we can support your application if you do not currently have one)
  • You will not be subject to any measures which prevent you from working with children
  • Commitment to the position and a desire to work with children with Special Needs
  • Empathy and resilience
