About the Role: In this role, you will be providing invaluable support to primary school students, particularly those with Special Educational Needs (SEN). Your background in Sociology and Criminology will equip you with a unique perspective to understand and address various social and behavioural challenges faced by students. You will work closely with teachers and SEN coordinators to create inclusive learning environments and implement strategies to support positive behaviour and academic progress.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the development and implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) for students with SEN.
  • Provide one-on-one or small group support to students, focusing on areas such as literacy, numeracy, and social skills.
  • Foster a nurturing and inclusive classroom environment where every student feels supported and valued.
  • Collaborate with teachers and parents to monitor student progress and adjust support strategies as needed.
  • Utilise your knowledge of sociology and criminology to understand the root causes of behavioural issues and implement effective intervention strategies.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Sociology, Criminology, or related field.
  • Passion for working with children and making a positive impact in their lives.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Prior experience in education or working with children is desirable but not essential.
