Requirements:
  • Full GMC licence to practice in the UK
  • Relevant previous experience working in a similar position within Learning Disability Psychiatry
  • Demonstrated expertise in assessing and managing mental health issues in individuals with learning disabilities
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams
  • Commitment to providing high-quality, person-centred care and support to individuals with learning disabilities and their families

Duties:
  • Provide specialized psychiatric assessment and treatment to individuals with learning disabilities, including those with complex needs and co-occurring mental health conditions
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans based on comprehensive assessments, therapeutic interventions, and multidisciplinary input
  • Collaborate closely with other healthcare professionals, including psychologists, social workers, and occupational therapists, to ensure holistic and coordinated care delivery
  • Offer consultation and support to primary care providers, community agencies, and carers involved in the care of individuals with learning disabilities
  • Advocate for the rights and needs of individuals with learning disabilities, promoting social inclusion, independence, and well-being
  • Participate in clinical governance activities, including case reviews, team meetings, and quality improvement initiatives, to maintain high standards of care and service delivery
