Learning & Development Lead

Salary: Up to £45,000

Location: Manchester/ Hybrid

Macmillan Davies are very excited to be supporting this global retailer with their search for a Learning & Development Lead to drive the learning agenda forward as they continue to expand and innovate

The main purpose of this newly evolved role is to take ownership of developing and implementing the Learning & Development plan to meet business needs and develop individual talent, whilst also building great relationships.

As the business continues to expand and innovate, we are seeking a dedicated Learning & Development Lead to join the dynamic People team and drive the learning agenda forward.

To be successful you'll need to have a passion for the design and delivery of impactful and engaging training in (person, online and through L&D materials/platforms) in addition to an enthusiastic and curious mindset and an interest in how technology, AI and systems can help deliver outstanding learning.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Take ownership of full L&D provision for head office development initiatives
  • Periodically deliver impactful training in key topics to upskill and engage teams & managers
  • Manage relationship and contracts with external providers of outsourced training and manage training platforms/systems
  • Oversee the Welcome Induction approach to ensure fantastic employee experience from onboarding to settling in
  • Grow the apprenticeship programme to provide future talent the opportunity to shine
  • Explore and introduce modern options for providing L&D opportunities and build knowledge across sales, digital, retail and office teams

Skills & Experience:

  • Experience and passion to continue training design and delivery - in person, via teams and creating cartoon/digital content utilising different creative methods and systems
  • Building relationships and working closely with business managers and leaders to understand training needs and come up with solutions
  • Managing 3rd party relationships with external training providers, Myagi platform suppliers and apprenticeship providers
  • Great team fit, can do attitude, a positive can-do but with calmness
  • Relevant experience creating training and building L&D provision in a comparable way, eg soft skills, management development, head office but some volume type set up would be beneficial
