My client in the global education sector is looking for a Learning Centre Advisor who will report to the Learning Centre Manager and will provide a high level of service to Learning Centre (Library) users together with a range of administrative duties.

Key accountabilities and duties
* To provide a welcoming, courteous and effective service to all Learning Centre users
* To issue and discharge materials
* To handle enquiries effectively and refer to other resources both internal and external as appropriate
* To help users with the use of IT resources, photocopying etc.
* To administer the processing of new stock
* To maintain existing stock through shelving, shelf tidying and repairs
* To handle cash for library charges
* To open up and prepare the Learning Centre for daily use and to close it properly at the end of the day
* To ensure that photocopiers and printers are always ready for use
* To entering new users' details into the database
* To assist in the monitoring of the service and collect data and statistics
* To liaise with colleagues and participate in service development and planning
* To assist in ensuring the safety, security and maintenance of the building, information systems, fittings and equipment and to report defects
* To assist with adding content to website
* To assist with the development of Learning Centre online resources through website

Ideal experience
* An approachable, warm and friendly manner
* Excellent communication skills
* Ability to communicate with students from a range of linguistic, ethnic and cultural backgrounds
* An ability to find information from a wide range of sources
* Good IT skills
* Good searching skills
* A high level of accuracy
* The ability to work independently
* Committed and responsible for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of young adults
* Willingness to test and learn new software
