Lead Maintenance Engineer

Uttoxeter, Staffordshire

36 hours per week - 06:00 - 14:00 Monday - Thursday (06:00 - 12:00 Friday)

Up to £42,000

We are looking for a motivated Lead Maintenance Engineer to join a market leading manufacturer in their respective field. Reporting directly to the Engineering Team Leader, you will be a key member in ensuring the production facility is kept running. You will be involved in all aspects of planned and reactive maintenance within their operation. With progressive training and development this company is always looking to enhance its employees and their skill sets, whilst additionally being supported by a welcoming team of engineers. The position will appeal to a strong engineer looking for their next challenging role within in a secure and stable company.

Role & Responsibilities:

  • Lead the Maintenance team to make sure they can deliver to agreed standards.
  • Support the Operations Manager by eliminating un-planned downtime and increase efficiency.
  • Maintain all buildings to a safe level that would not endanger employees or visitors to site.
  • Make sure quality standards and SOP's are strictly adhered to
  • Deliver exceptional communications within the Maintenance team (tool box talks)
  • Be the point of contact and project manager for all on site building work maintain high standards and ensuring all work is carried out in a safe manner.
  • Put in place a planned maintenance system and engage with key contractors for key pieces of equipment and utilities Gas/ Water/ Electricity / Air etc.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Project management or engineering background ideally within a maintenance or facilities role.
  • HNC or BTEC in an engineering discipline.
  • Understanding of powder coating / wet paint and EPD process equipment and metal pre-treatments and the safe operations of plant and equipment within a production department.
  • Coming from a production or manufacturing background with experience of leading small teams, the post holder should ideally be a self-starter with excellent team management skills and the ability to plan well and build strong relationships
