Join us on an extraordinary journey as we continue our remarkable growth. We’re seeking a Lead Data Scientist to provide leadership within our Data department. This pivotal role involves guiding our Data Scientists and enhancing our data science capabilities.

Lead Data Scientist

  • Location: Tyne & Wear
  • Office requirements: Hybrid / 2-3 days per week
  • Salary: £85,000 – £100,000

Day to Day of the role:

  • Lead and nurture a team of data scientists, fostering a culture of collaboration and innovation.
  • Oversee the integration of data science projects into business processes to improve decision-making and operational efficiency.
  • Engage with senior stakeholders to understand their needs and deliver impactful data-driven insights.
  • Collaborate with other teams to make data science capabilities accessible across the organisation.
  • Work closely with the data engineering team to ensure data requirements for projects are met.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in leading a data science team and managing complex projects.
  • Expertise in machine learning, statistics, data management, and relevant technologies (e.g., Python, R, SQL, AWS SageMaker, Apache Airflow, Dbt, AWS Kinesis).
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex data concepts to a non-technical audience.
  • Knowledge of industry standards like CRISP-DM.
  • Experience in iGaming or online betting is a plus but not essential.
