Cpl Life Sciences are partnering with biopharmaceutical company, recruiting for a Laboratory Steward on a permanent basis. The purpose of this role is to provide support for the QC department. This will include general maintenance of the QC laboratories, ensure the departmental laboratories is maintained to GMP standards of cleanliness, tidiness and audit preparedness.

Key Responsibilities

Ensure departmental laboratories are maintained to GMP standards of cleanliness, tidiness and audit preparedness.

• Perform general housekeeping to ensure the smooth running of the department.

• Clean, monitor and calibrate equipment in the department.

• Clean hand-wash basins, floors, walls and ceilings.

• Clean laboratory glassware and restock the cupboards with clean glassware.

• Decontaminate and dispose of laboratory waste.

• Stock check of consumables store, ordering and restocking of shelves including stock rotation.

• Replenish laboratory chemicals, solvents and consumables.

• Prepare equipment for calibration, validation, servicing and maintenance.

• Manage PPE ensuring availability of lab coats, safety glasses, gloves and masks.

• Assist laboratories in day to day tasks and support other team members in their duties.

• Undertake work in accordance with the company Health and Safety policies and procedures.

• Operate in compliance with SOPs, c/GMp and other regulatory requirements.

Skills and Requirements

• Current and valid Right to Work in UK

• HNC or equivalent in a scientific discipline is strongly desirable

• Demonstrate understanding of H&S and COSHH

• Experience of following written SOPs or work instructions
