On-going temporary role

We are currently recruiting for a Porter to work in a busy laboratory in central Basingstoke. You do not need any previous experience for this position but if you have studied or worked within a science field that would be beneficial. Due to the nature of the business you will need to be aged over 18 and be able to repeatedly lift 10kg boxes.

• To resupply/order consumables
• To prepare stock plates and media
• To assist in maintenance of all stock cultures
• To notify the engineering Dept and line management of equipment faults
• To provide support for the Curator
• To wash all laboratory glassware by hand or dishwasher
• To ensure the laundry is maintained for all laboratories
• To ensure the laboratory personnel are provided with pre-specified consumables on a weekly basis e.g. agar plates, Petri-dishes, glassware, etc.
• Alerting the QC Team Leader/ Lead Scientist of potential problems/failures
