Laboratory Manager

  • Full-time and permanent role
  • Monday to Friday
  • Salary dependent on experience
  • Location: Lincolnshire

Reed Scientific is partnering with a well-established chemical manufacturer based in Lincolnshire with an international presence. They are looking for a hands on Laboratory Manager to manage up to two members of staff and all aspects of a small laboratory.

Responsibilities:

  • Laboratory compliance with ISO/IEC 17025 and other laboratory accreditations
  • Development and validation of analytical methods
  • Routine analysis and producing accurate results
  • Authorisation of results and Certificates of Analysis
  • Managing laboratory documentation and establishing laboratory procedures
  • Involvement in financial decisions
  • Ensuring that the laboratory consumables are fully stocked and equipment maintained
  • Workload planning
  • Staff training, supervision and recruitment

Ideal Candidate:

  • A degree in Chemistry or extensive experience in a similar role
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience of working in an industrial laboratory
  • Extensive experience in Analytical Chemistry and ISO17025 knowledge
  • Experience of Inductively Coupled Plasma Optical Emission Spectroscopy and Segmented Flow Analysis
  • Experience in undertaking development and validation of analytical methods
  • Knowledge of inorganic chemistry
  • Knowledge of MS Office and ideally LIMS software
  • Effective communication skills at all levels
  • Full UK driving license and own vehicle
  • Flexible with working hours when required
