As a Lab Technician you will be an integral part of a multidisciplinary team and will engage in cutting-edge development of Inertial Electrostatic Confinement (IEC) fusion neutron sources. Your Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team on fusion fuel cycle research projects.
- Conduct hands-on assembly, testing, and maintenance of IEC fusion devices.
- Operate and troubleshoot high-voltage systems and vacuum chambers.
- Aiding the development of protocols for safe handling and production of radioisotopes.
- Accurately document experimental procedures and results for research analysis.
- Adhere to stringent safety protocols, such as IRR-17, in a laboratory environment.
Your Skills:
- Previous experience in a laboratory environment with familiarity in high voltage, vacuum systems, and/or radiation.
- Skilled in conducting experiments with high-energy particle physics equipment such as accelerators, cyclotrons or research reactors is highly desirable.
- Must be familiar with high-performance computing for simulation, such as Monte Carlo-based codes, as well as scripting languages and/or data analysis packages.
- Experience in handling complex material and chemical processing techniques.
- Technical proficiency with laboratory equipment and diagnostics tools.
- Comfortable presenting work and activities at international conferences.
