Job Title: Social Mentor / Academic Tutor
Aim: To improve a learners social confidence to leave the home and re-engage back into school
Location: Cliffsend, Ramsgate
Frequency: 10-15 hours per week (Mon-Fri daytime)
Duration: Until September 2024
Extra info: This learner currently resides in a Foster home in Kent, but will be moving to Oxfordshire in September 2024. They are on-roll at a school, but has never attended or stepped on site due to anxiety and lack of relationship with the school. They struggle greatly with his anxiety, so leaving the house is an obstacle, we need the educator to help with. General academic re-engagement and tuition across core subjects is required (the level they are working at will be confirmed). They have strong interests in cooking, music and especially cars/motors so these topics should be incorporated into day-to-day learning/schedule with the educator. Expectations for the tutor are to improve their social confidence through project based learning that incorporates academic requirements and active "days out" to improve social anxiety. EHCP will be provided before the tuition begins to the tutor identified.
