Job title: KS2  Teaching Assistant

Location: Gateshead  

Hours:8:30 – 3:30pm

Salary: £83 - £120 per day

Are you ready to kickstart your career in education? Look no further- We are seeking to appoint Teaching Assistants at mainstream Primary schools in Gateshead.

GSL are supporting a lovely school in the Gateshead  area to find a Teaching Assistant. We are looking for an outstanding teaching assistant who has experience working with children to support academically in Maths and English.

 Teaching Assistant Role

• You will engage with children and enforce positive behaviour
• You will Support teaching and Learning within the class
• Assisting with preparation, planning and marking if required
• Taking small groups for interventions – for example Maths or Phonics

• Carry out administrative duties, such as preparing the classroom and clearing away after class to ensure effective teaching can take place.

• Available to work Monday to Friday Term time only – hours of 8.30-3.30pm

Requirements of the role

• Positive approach to working with children and the ability to motivate, inspire and build rapport.
• An enhanced DBS on the update service OR the willingness to complete an immediate application

• The ability to challenge children when they display negative behaviour and become reluctant learners.
• Be a qualified level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant or have other relevant experience ( care, family member support, Youth work etc )

• RTW in the UK and a fully checkable work history
