Job title: 1:1 KS2 Teaching assistant

Location: Newcastle upon Tyne

Hours: 8-4:30pm

Salary: £83 - £120 per day

A good school in Newcastle upon Tyne  is looking a teaching assistant to work in a  mainstream class in KS2 supporting a child with ADHD. You might be on a alternative curriculum or adapt the learning for the child’s needs and spend lots of time learning outside the classroom. The school provides amazing training on communication, sensory strategies and behaviour management for new members of staff, you may work between the hours 8- 4:30pm.

KS2 Teaching Assistant role

• Supporting the pupils in their education through the schools own curriculum 
• Supporting the class teacher with recording attainment, behaviour plans and EHCP paperwork 
• Carrying out interventions with a 1:1 
• Following the schools behaviour management policy effectively 
• Promoting independence with life skills 
• Providing an outstanding level of safeguarding and pastoral care

The ideal candidate will: 

• Be available for work Monday to Friday , term time only
• Have some experience with ADHD
• Candidates with no experience but a willingness to learn are welcome to apply 
• Be proactive, energetic, kind and nurturing   
• An enhanced DBS on the update service (or willing to go through the process with ourselves)
• A full checkable work history 
• Graduates Teaching Assistant are encouraged to apply to gain experience.
