KS1 Teaching Assistant Long Term Contract
Are you a qualified teaching assistant? Do you have experience in working in primary schools?
Empowering Learning are delighted to be working with a school in the NG5 area. The school are looking to appoint a teaching assistant to work within their KS1 team. The role will be full time and based on a fixed term contract until July 2024. This role could become permanent for the right person
The successful applicant will have:
- Previous experience of working within KS1
- An understanding of phonics and how its delivered in primary schools
- An approachable personality to both staff and pupils
- A passion for all things education
- A high work-ethic with a passion for helping children to succeed
- Past experience of delivering intervention sessions
- The ability to support pupils with SEN
The main duties within the role will be:
- Delivering academic interventions to pupils working below age expected levels
- Delivering phonics sessions using ReadWriteInc every day
- Supporting the teaching and learning within the classroom
- Working on a 1:1 basis with pupils who present with additional needs
- Liaising with the class teacher around progress of the pupils
- Running guided reading sessions two times per week
