Are you a passionate KS1 teacher looking to join a successful team at a wonderful school in Heaton Mersey? Look no further for your next opportunity!

On behalf of our client school, we are seeking a dedicated Year 2 teacher to take responsibility of a fantastic, high achieving class from September 2024 until March 2025. This maternity cover role in Year 2 will be paid to scale and the successful candidate will be welcomed by a supportive KS1 department who look forward to a new addition and sharing best practice to drive positive outcomes! Applications from both ECT's and teachers further into their career are warmly welcomed.

The successful candidate will be responsible for an averaged size Year 2 class. Experience writing and reviewing EHCPs would be hugely advantageous as will experience in Oxford Owl Read Write Inc Phonics. There is also daily TA support and shared planning opportunities.

Year 2 key responsibilities include:

-Planning and teaching engaging lessons in line with National Curriculum Standards

-Using a range of assessment tools, both formative and summative and using online platforms to collate data

-Delivering the Read Write Inc phonics and using supplemental resources to support reading, writing and verbal development

-Work well independently as well as a team player and communicate well with the teaching assistant to inform them of daily activities and gain feedback on whether objectives are met

-Immerse yourself in all aspects of school life

Essential Requirements:

-QTS status or an equivalent teaching qualification

-Demonstrated success in a KS1 setting with excellent referenes to support this
