Kitchen Assistant

We are currently recruiting Kitchen Assistants to join our enthusiastic and hardworking team in Eastbourne and throughout Sussex.
Own transport required due to remote location and shift times
Shift times: 6am-11am or 3pm-9pm
Food hygiene level 1 certificate is essential (we can arrange this for you).
Enhanced DBS certificate (we can arrange this for you).
£12.50 per hour

As a Kitchen Assistant you will have the following skills:
*The ability to work quickly and to the required standard
*An understanding of the importance of health and hygiene
*Plenty of stamina and the ability to work on your feet for most of the shift
*A great team player
*Good listening and communication skills and ability to follow instructions
*Ability to follow Health & Safety, Manual Handling and COSHH.
*Experience doing basic food prep, such as washing, peeling and chopping vegetables is ideal but not essential

Main Duties/Responsibilities:
*Assist chefs by washing, peeling, chopping, cutting and cooking food stuffs and helping to prepare dishes or sides such as salads and desserts
*Ensure that the kitchen is clean and operational, cleaning the food preparation equipment, floors and other kitchen tools or areas
*Wash utensils and dishes and making sure they are stored appropriately
*Serve from canteen bays
*Dispose of rubbish correctly
*Prepare ingredients with guidance
*Receive deliveries of new food and drink stock items, checking off items and storing them correctly

Qualifications/Licences/Certifications
* Own transport required due to remote location
* Enhanced DBS certificate
* Food hygiene level 1 certificate (minimum)
