About the Role

This role is a temporary ad-hoc 2-month fixed term contract based within Carey Camp; Wareham which is set amongst private woodlands overlooking the Isle of Purbeck in Dorset. We make the most of the beautiful surroundings by delivering our activities on and off-site. We cater for schools, educational groups, professional organisations, and the general public.

As a Kitchen Assistant, you'll support the catering service and Senior Cook with daily tasks ensuring our guests experience and development requirements are met.

We are looking for somebody who can be versatile, ability to perform under pressure, excellent communication skills and ability to carry out the day-to-day duties of the role.

What is the day-to-day of the role:

• Assist with preparing, packaging and/or serving refreshments and meals.
• Set and clear tables
• Clean dishes, utensils and equipment used for food service.
• Ensure dietary needs are met, including special diets or allergies.
• Manage food and refreshment stocks, including vending machines.
• Handle cash transactions from customers.
• Perform general cleaning tasks, such as vacuuming, dusting, and bathroom/kitchen cleaning.
• Launder and return clothing and linens as needed.
• Attend meetings and training sessions.
• Maintain food hygiene, infection prevention, and safety standards.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• A valid DBS
• Prepared to work towards Foundation Certificate in food hygiene
• NVQ Level 2 or equivalent in Catering
• First Aid Certificate
