Kilo Lab Chemist

One of our clients, a pharmaceutical company, is looking for a Kilo Lab Chemist to join the team for a 6 month contract.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform 20L scale custom synthesis in the kilo lab, according to batch process instructions (BPI)
  • Produce standard volumetric solutions and solvent mixes
  • Document all activities fully and accurately in Manufacturing documentation
  • Manage raw materials and intermediates required for the process, including inventory checks
  • Identify and report quality events
  • Plan daily activities to ensure project deliverables can be met
  • Support documentation for the new facility which may involve observing the Process qualification (PQ) and then writing SOPs and BPIs
  • Support transfer of processes through creation of BPI and COSHH documentation
  • Responsible for maintaining your work areas in a safe and tidy condition; play an active role in 5S.
  • Work with due care and attention and in accordance with prescribed safety guidelines, adhering to the company policy, including the wearing of Personal Protective Equipment
  • Comply with ISO 9001 Quality Standards and ISO 14001 Environmental Standards

Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in a Chemistry discipline
  • 1-3 years' experience in Industry or recently graduated with an Industrial Year
  • Demonstrable experience of practical skills
  • Strong practical chemistry skill
  • Ability to work well as part of a team and independently
